My name is Lizzie and I am a PhD student at the University of Hull researching women and their interaction with the world around them through their collections in the English country house during the eighteenth century. Alongside this, I love art, Jane Austen, baking and costume drama. I’m hoping to share some of the interesting stories from my research here alongside other History, art, literature, travel and film that fills my head. My first stops when visiting new places (because I love a mini-break, inside or outside the UK!) are the museums, palaces and country houses, particularly when there are lots of masterpieces to look at – and I love taking photographs of all of these! I dream of travelling to far flung places and discovering even more History and more art (and more cake!). Beyond that, I dream of curating or writing novels. But for now, this blog is a way for me to share the things I love and discover even more, and I hope you enjoy it.
